Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) delivered a flawless performance at the Thai Grand Prix, clinching his first Moto2 victory of the season. Aron Canet (Fantic Racing LINO SONEGO) secured a strong second place, while Senna Agius ensured a double podium for Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP, despite serving a Long Lap penalty following an incident with Celestino Vietti (Team HDR Heidrun).

Vietti initially led the race aboard his Triumph-powered Boscoscuro, but Gonzalez was hot on his heels, with Agius also making a brilliant start to slot into third. By Lap 12 of 22, Gonzalez had seized the lead and began to pull away, opening a 1.9-second gap while Agius started pressuring Vietti.

Drama soon unfolded as Agius attempted a move on Vietti at Turn 10, resulting in contact that sent the Italian sliding out of contention. Agius ran wide, losing valuable time, which allowed Canet to move up into second. The controversial collision saw Agius handed a Long Lap penalty, while Gonzalez capitalized on the chaos to extend his lead to over three seconds.

As the race neared its conclusion, Gonzalez and Canet comfortably held onto P1 and P2, while Diogo Moreira (Italtrans Racing Team) – who had taken advantage of Agius’ earlier mistake – found himself under increasing pressure from the recovering Australian. The battle for the final podium spot was intense, with Agius reclaiming third at Turn 3 after a thrilling exchange of positions with Moreira, which saw them swap places five times on Lap 21.

In the end, Gonzalez cruised to his second Moto2 victory, while Canet banked 20 valuable championship points in second place. Agius held firm to secure third, edging Moreira by just 0.251s. Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing Team) completed the top five after managing to fend off Barry Baltus (Fantic Racing LINO SONEGO) and Jake Dixon (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team), with Dixon emerging as the leading Boscoscuro rider in Thailand.

Rookie standout Daniel Holgado (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) impressed with a P8 finish, ahead of Filip Salač (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) and Alonso Lopez (Team HDR Heidrun). Further down the order, fellow rookie Adrian Huertas (Italtrans Racing Team) secured points in P14, while Mario Aji (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) earned his fifth P15 finish.

It was a dominant display from Gonzalez, who lays down an early marker in the Moto2 title fight as the paddock now shifts its focus to Round 2 in Argentina.
